Firmware Analysis feature in Azure Arc helps organizations scan firmware from IoT, OT, and network devices, without installing any software on the device. It checks for known vulnerabilities, builds a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), and looks for security issues like hardcoded passwords or outdated libraries. The tool also gives advice on how to fix issues and shows if key protections (like ASLR or stack guards) are missing. It supports embedded Linux firmware (up to 1 GB) and now includes better tools for managing firmware scans through the CLI, SDK, and PowerShell.
