Microsoft has announced Windows 11, version 26H1

Microsoft has announced Windows 11, version 26H1, a special release designed to support new hardware innovations coming in 2026. This version will only be available on new devices with select silicon, like Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 processors, and will not be offered as a regular update for existing Windows 11 PCs. Version 26H1 is not a feature update for version 25H2, so you don’t need to pause purchases or change your current deployment plans. Devices with version 26H1 will continue receiving monthly security and quality updates like other Windows 11 releases. Because 26H1 is based on a different core than versions 24H2, 25H2, and the upcoming annual update, these devices won’t upgrade to the next major feature update in late 2026. For most users and organizations, versions 24H2 and 25H2 remain the recommended Windows 11 releases today. www.ChironIT.com ChironIT Windows11 WindowsUpdate TechNews
