Microsoft has updated the timeline for moving the Microsoft Sentinel experience from the Azure portal to the Microsoft Defender portal to give security teams more time to plan and migrate smoothly. Originally, Sentinel users were expected to complete this transition by July 1, 2026, but due to customer feedback, especially from large and complex environments, Microsoft is now extending support for the Azure portal experience until March 31, 2027. This means organizations that still use Sentinel in Azure now have extra runway to prepare, adjust permissions, and validate workflows before fully switching over.
