The updated Workflows experience lets you build, manage, and run workflows right from SharePoint lists
Microsoft is rolling out a major set of automation updates in SharePoint that bring workflow and process automation directly into the context of your content instead of handling it in separate tools.
The updated Workflows experience lets you build, manage, and run workflows right from SharePoint lists, libraries, and within the Teams Workflows app using a unified interface and template-driven or custom trigger/action logic. The workflow builder now offers guided setup that pre-fills site, list, and library context to make automation faster to configure, and workflows can still be extended into Power Automate for advanced logic if needed.
In addition, SharePoint now supports Quick Steps, which are lightweight, no-code action buttons you can add to list and library grid views that run predefined logic based on metadata or selection criteria, so teams can automate repeatable actions like moving files, sending emails, or updating fields without full workflow builds.
These enhancements make business process automation more integrated, flexible, and accessible within SharePoint.
