We helped to develop a centralized dashboard for the National Institute of Health (NIH), addressing the need for tracking various activities.
DPCPSI needed a solution to generate reports with various metrics and provide users with floor plans for different locations.
The National Institute of Health (NIH) faced the challenge of tracking activities related to budgeting across different offices in a centralized manner. Additionally, the Mentoring module required a system to enable users and new hires to select mentors and for mentors to view their mentees, supporting multiple roles with different permissions.
The dashboard offered configurable options for users to customize columns, apply filters, and conduct searches.
To address the challenges faced by the NIH, a dedicated site was created on the Intranet portal with a Co-funding dashboard. Multiple pre-defined views were available, and the system allowed for exporting data to Excel or PDF formats. The solution also included the development of various forms to capture information based on process stages and user roles, as well as automated email notifications to keep users informed about necessary actions. The technical implementation utilized SharePoint 2016, Angular for form development, and a combination of SharePoint lists, libraries, and SQL Server database for data storage. Role and permission management were handled within SharePoint, and the application’s logic was designed to display the appropriate content based on the user interface.
